Weaving A Culture of Care
At OBC, we understand life is full of up's & down's. Hill's & valley's. As the body of Christ, we are called to journey with one another in the joyous moments & in the times of hardship, grief & despair. We are called to care for one another in humility, as Christ did; believing no individual to be more, or less worthy of the care of Christ. And we are to walk humbled, as Peter did; allowing others to walk with us in every aspect of our life's journey.

Elevating Care
In our culture asking for help is often not the done thing. A biblical care culture would actually feel quite foreign to us. To walk in complete humility with one another. That is sharing struggles & triumphs, cheering each other on & raising one another up.
Here in Aotearoa, manaakitanga fits very closely with scriptural care. Manakitanga is wonderfully complex & yet beautifully simple. So much makes up manakitanga. and yet simply, it's about raising ones mana. Not pulling them up, but standing with them & elevating them. Be that through a cooked meal, a prayer, a visit, a short course, edification & more.
Here at OBC, we want to participate in the day to day journey, elevating our community & those in the community of Orewa.
