At Orewa Baptist Church we are privileged to support amazing organisations and people making an impact both locally and globally. To find out more information on those we support or how you can be involved, please contact our office.

Here at OBC we believe we are to be a light in our community. Here are some of the ways in which we are a part of our incredible Orewa Community.

Orewa Baptist Community Toy Library offers a toy lending service to the community as well as creates the opportunity for mums/grandparents/families to be able to meet and interact with other mums/grandparents/families.

Toy Library is run entirely by volunteers.

The costs of maintaining the toys and administration items are met by term fees, fundraising and through donations and grants from various sources, among which Orewa Baptist is prominent.

Time: Thursdays during school terms from 9.30am to 11.20am
Where: Orewa Baptist church lounge.
Age: Children 0-7 years

God’s Pantry is a ministry resource made available to assist those through a crisis with a food parcel.
We are blessed to be a blessing in this way. If you or someone you know is in need, please click "Get In Touch" below.

Feel free to check out the Food Bank's Give-A-Little page

At OBC we believe the Christian life isn’t meant to be lived out in isolation but rather to be lived in close connection with others. That’s why Life Groups are an integral piece to life at OBC. Life Groups provide opportunities for encouragement, friendship, spiritual growth and care in times of need. People need connection and Life Groups provides that necessary component of the Christian faith.

OBC is undergoing an exciting transformation. Quite literally. We are rebuilding. This will obviously help us as we grow, but will also be an incredible high quality facility with a large auditorium, café facilities and more to bless our Orewa community.
If you wish to donate to this cause contact the office.

Orewa Baptist Church’s commitment to mission is drawn from Jesus’ command:

“… Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” Mark 16:15 (NIV)

We are committed to building for the Kingdom as we send and support our missionaries locally and overseas.  OBC supports the missionaries and organisations listed below.

Trevor & Judy Clarke, members of OBC, are the directors for Ethnos NZ. Ethnos helps local churches mobilize and equip missionaries to reach the 2,500 unreached people groups in the world.
Trevor & Judy travel all over NZ, bringing awareness of the great unfinished task. They are passionate about mobilizing the next generation to long term mission service. They are part of the staff team that annually gives young people a taste of what this is like over a six week interface programme in PNG.

The Highams served with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Arnhem Land for 7 years. In 2018, they relocated to West Africa to continue their work of using digital technologies to communicate the Gospel and mobilising individuals and churches to be involved in missions.

The Highams feel privileged to co-partner with OBC in missions. For their newsletters or contact details, please contact the OBC missions committee.

Working in Belgium since 1989, John and Pauline England established The European Evangelical Mission (TEEM). They helped plant four churches which continue to minister in the Belgium/Germany/Luxembourg border area. From there they started several ministries in Romania. Today TEEM supports Romanian village ministries like ReGen, The Horizon of Hope training centre, youth camps, training seminars and struggling pastors. TEEM also bought a property in Rucar for establishing a church.

NZBMS is the denominational overseas mission organisation of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand. Sitting under NZBMS as the parent ‘brand’ are 4 arms or entities, each with a different focus.
• Tranzsend – sending and ministry
• Banzaid – aid and development
• Mission World – resourcing and mobilising
• Marketplacers International – business

In business for freedom.
Freeset is a fair trade business offering employment to women trapped in Kolkata’s sex trade. We make quality jute bags and organic cotton t-shirts, but their business is freedom! Freeset would like to see the 10,000 sex workers in their neighborhood empowered with the choice of leaving a profession they never chose in the first place.

Would you like to join one of our ministries? Give us a call today to join the many worshippers who are already calling Orewa Baptist Church home.
