STEP 4

DISCUSSION

Share these questions in your household or with others from OBC over the phone

- What most excites you about the Kingdom of God?

- A pillar of the Baptist movement is 'Freedom of Church & state.' There is a deep Baptist conviction that worship & mission is valid only when it has arisen freely from the heart. - Discuss what this freedom of expression means as creative beings.

- A marked feature of Baptist life that has developed is the autonomy of the local church. This means that congregations cannot be dictated to by an outside body. It's strength has meant we are locally driven. What possibilities do you see for our Church locally?

-  Weaknesses of autonomy can be too much indifference to the wider church, insufficient collective endeavour, & even the reluctance to permit outside intervention for a local church unable to resolve internal conflict. How can we go about appreciating, celebrating & partaking in the kingdom movement outside of our own context?

STEP 5
MISSION & PRAYER

In these trying times where our usual rhythm of worship, of mission, of teaching is upended.

Pray that God releases the OBC whanau, you & your family  into that space of freedom to connect with Him. To remove the limitations of our comfort zones & embolden us to reach those who need Him utilizing the creativity & problem solving skills he has empowered us with to see His Kingdom come in our current context.

Share with us any stories you may have where God has used your creativity & freedom of expression to share the gospel & care for one another
